An outstation educational trip for grade XI students to City Montessori School Lucknow for the ISRO Vikram Sarabhai Space Exhibition was organised from 6th to 9th December 2023.

A group of 24 students and 2 accompanying teachers boarded an overnight train from New Delhi railway station on 6th December at 22:00 hours reaching CMS Lucknow on

7th  December 2023 morning. Lodging was on triple sharing basis (separate for boys and girls) in the guest house within CMS campus.

After breakfast they changed into school winter uniform to attend the inaugural ceremony which was a grand affair, featuring performances by the CMS students and speeches by dignitaries like Shri Brajesh Pathak, the Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, and

Shri. Nilesh M. Desai, the Director of ISRO Ahmedabad. Mr. Desai shared insights into various space missions, from Chandrayaan 1, 2, and 3 to Mission Mangal and Aditya-L1.

The ISRO Exhibition showcased satellites, launching vehicles such as the SLV, PSLV, GSLV, etc., and cosmic theories using impressive models. Students also got the opportunity to engage with esteemed ISRO scientists working with ISRO’s Chandrayan and Aditya L1 mission, who detailed space programs available for students specifically discussing Mission Mangal and future opportunities for aspiring engineers, doctors, and scientists at ISRO. There was a demonstration of a rocket launch based on Newton’s laws and an interactive "Space on the Wheels" exhibition that further captivated students’ interest in space exploration.

In the evening students were surprised by the arrangement of a dandiya evening where they got second prize in an informal dance competition.

On 8th December an outing to the Anandi Magic World was organised in which students did various adventure activities like bungee jumping, giant swing, obstacle course etc and rides which included a roller coaster. In the evening students visited local markets for shopping and relishing Lucknow's exquisite cuisine.

On 9th December morning students again visited the exhibition and then departed back to Gurgaon by boarding the Shatabdi express from Lucknow junction at 15:30 hours reaching New Delhi station at 22:25 hours.

The exhibition gave students the opportunity to learn about ISRO’s remarkable achievements and advancements in Space Science and Technology and they were apprised about future ISRO missions. It ignited a sense of curiosity in them and encouraged them to learn more about space.

We thank our director ma’am for giving us this opportunity of experiential learning.
